The current favorite wacker strings are the Cordes Lambert. They have a new deluxe set out that have a "twisted" look to make them look like guts, and they supposedly have a very nice sound bowed. I haven't tried them myself, but I plan to buy a set in the next month or so. |

If you pull the trigger on these, let us know how you fair with the bow! |

The guy that makes them is on vacation for a few weeks, so he won't be taking orders for a while, but hopefully I'll be able to place an order when he gets back. |

The set combines the synthetic gut D and G strings with a steel core nylon on the E and A strings. I am looking for some new strings and was very interested in these. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks |

It's already established they are really good for slap and pizz, but, at least to my ears, they sound just as good under the bow. I honestly think they sound as good as guts. |

I honestly think they sound as good as guts. | I did put the weed wackers on my bass and I do agree they are great for slapping and pizz, but I am not a slapper. They die out way to quick for me. I used them for a couple of weeks and they did not stay in tune very well. I guess they would have eventually stretched out. I like a string with a lot of sustain in the sound. I ended up putting a set of Eurosonics on and I love them for the sound that I want and they need very little tuning. Granite they cost 4 times more than the WW, but to me they are worth every penny I paid for them. If I was a slapper I would have stayed with the WW because they did have a great sound for slapping and much easier to slap then the Eurosonics I have now. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
