Weichs on Kay

Francois Blais suggested that I try Spirocore Weichs on my 1947 C-1, and I've had them on for a month now.

First of all, they've turned the bass into a cannon. With god-knows-how-old Mittels it was not a particularly loud bass, but it now shakes the windowpanes when I dig in. It certainly feels as loud as any other bass I've played.

The arco started out scratchy, but is starting to calm down. I'm hoping it'll continue to improve as I break the strings in.

Tone-wise, I'm still adjusting to the sound. There's certainly higher overtones coming to the forefront, and it makes intonation a little more difficult.

Thanks for the advice, Francois! This was certainly worth trying! Time will tell if I've found a keeper...
