Question What are some excellent 5ths tuning arco strings?

Anyone know any great arco strings for 5ths tuning (C-G-D-A, like cello but octave lower)?

Try Dominants. It's the most popular fifths string in Canada!
1. Solo A
2. Orchestra D
3. Solo F# tuned up.
4. Low C

Many also like a Spirocore C.

Thomastik make a Set tunes in 5ths. If you can get into the spirocore arco sound then go for it. The sound is a little scratchy in the low register but sounds great uo top.

I have mentioned this before, but Pirastro just came out with Obligato strings. I hear good things about the first few sets to come out.

Hmmm... Just how scratchy are the Spirocore strings when they are bowed?

Both medium and weich gauges for the "Red Mitchell" set.
