Question What strings come with an Englehardt ES-1?

I finally bit the bullet and decided to buy my first DB. I ordered a lefty Engelhardt ES-1 from a local luthier I met via Gollihur's links page.

What kind of strings does Engelhardt use for the ES-1?

I want to play pizz Jazz with a little arco classical (80/20).

In looking at the various threads regarding strings, I am torn between Obligatos, Spirocores, Superflexibles, and D'Addario Hybrids.

Any suggestions?

If a local luthier is setting it up, he'll probably give you some say in the strings that come on it.

I liked Obligatos best on my Engelhardt. The basses start a little bright, so the tubbiness of the Obli helps out.

The Engelhardt basses come with Labella (ropecore?) strings? They are playable, but I would suggest changing them as soon as you can. If you are playing a mix of arco and pizz (or even solely pizz), I would suggest the Pirastro Flat Chromesteel.
