what strings for a High c 5 db

Hi,

I'll be getting a 5 string db soon and I was wondering what strings to get. I mostly play pizz but also want to use a bow so I'm not sure what would be the best choice.

The bass is tuned with a high c, any advice would be great, thanks

What kind of pizz tone are you looking for?
Bright with sustain?
Dark and thumpy?
Do you have an example of some bassist's tone you like?

I've only been playing db for a couple of months now so I'm not sure what tone I'm after.

I like Renaud Garcia Fons, he uses Thomastik spirocore solo, GDA, Weieh E and Pirastro flat chrome steel for the high C.
But, I'm not blown away by his pizz tone. it seems a bit weak, though this may be due to the recording of the album (oriental bass). I like a dark tone but also with plenty of definition.

I've just bought an new album by Esperanza Spalding, I like her tone as well as her playing but I'm not sure what strings she uses. It seems really dark and punchie but I can still hear the notes too. Thats what i'm after really.

I also have to concider the high C and what is availiable for that. Now i'm using a cheapo ply bass with d'addario jazz hybrids, i'm happy with the tone on the G,D but looses a lot of depth in the bass range. it might very well be the bass though.
