What are these DB strings?

Can anyone identify what make these strings are? They came on my current DB when I bought it but I swapped them out for TI Spirocores. The E Spiro broke recently so I put the E from this set back on and it has a lovely clear sharp tone to it. They were not good for bowing so I would suspect a pizz string of some sort. Thanks for any help.

Thanks that confirms what I saw on another thread.

I don't know what they are, but I know that they're not d'Addario helicore hybrids.

Super-flexibles? or super-awesome-flexibles as they're known around here in ottawa.

I don't think they are Superflexibles. I've used them before and I remember them having a different ball end.

Unless they're really old, and D'addario has switched ends, they're not helicores. The yellow candy cane on green is at the wrong end.

I can't tell exactly from the picture but it looks like the peg end silks are green with a gold wire wrapped in a lattice pattern. If that's the case they might be Gotz strings. I have a similar set but with black silk at the tailpiece end. I inquired here a while back but no one responded with any information. My set is an older set but still in the unopened package so I can't comment on how they play or sound.

There is a German company named Gotz that makes basses but not sure if they make strings or have someone to make strings for them. They might be more popular in Europe than the U.S. so maybe some TB'er over there might have more information.

Let me know if you find anything on these strings. I'm going to keep using my current strings for now but for future reference I would like to know more about them.

I looked at your other post, Eddue. Seems the Pfitzner string is a gut string so that rules mine out from that as they are steel rope core.

This seems to have a few people stumped. I have emailed the shop where I bought the bass. Don't know if they will be able to help as that was about 5 or 6 years ago.

Here is a link to the Gotz site:

Nothing mentioned about string but maybe someone there has some information on them.

Here's where I found the details of your Pfitzner strings.
