What's a good extension string match for dominants?

I'm back using dominants and loving them.. well for this month at least!
I can't seem to track down an extended E string tho. I ordered the dominant low C string and i got a 5th string C.. i.e. a B string but a C.. weird!
What do you dominant people with an extension use?

The Spiro Extended-E string tends to be recommended for whatever genre you play.

I'm sure someone else will be able to suggest a gauge.

For what it's worth, strings designed to be tuned to low B tend to be a bit thicker than those designed for C. Because of the Dominant's synthetic core, I surmise it wasn't feasible to make the thicker string. Of course, nearly any B/C string can be tuned to either pitch.

Do they make the spiro stark in extended yet? They haven't as far as I know but that would be the ticket if they did.

If not I'd lean towards the Pirastro Permanent extended string for a darker string or the spiro mittel extended for a growlier bright string. Either would work ok with Doms I'd think.

spiro mittle (orchestra) long-E is it.

I play mostly in the orchestra. My search ended when I put on a spiro mittle long-E. I tried the helicore and permanent. The spiro has a great tone center (clarity?) and isn't too coarse when you get down on the extended notes. It bows great from low-C up to B or C (V and VII position). The octave harmonic (E) is pretty good, and that's as far up as I go on that sucker.

The real beauty of this string is that the pizz is ohh so good. My F through B sound so sweet to my ears.
