Hi, Guys,
Since Don recommended the Pirastro Obligatos so highly, I decided to order a set from Quinn Violins. Unfortunately, they tell me now that they don't have any and don't know when they will have more as they are becoming increasingly difficult to get. So, Where,oh where can I find some?

Lemur (1-800-246-BASS) sells them, but they were out of stock. I bought a set recently from Concord Music Supplies right here in the Garden State. 1-201-261-3871. Prices vary, but so do shipping costs.

Don:

You ought to be charging Pirastro endorsement fees. I've had a set of Obligato on backorder through Lemur for about 3 weeks.

You've become too powerful!!!!!

I haven't tried Obligatos yet (how are they?) but get most my strings through Quinn Violins:

There are also a few others on-line retailers:
SouthWest Strings (www.swstrings.com)
JustStrings.com (www.juststrings.com)
I didn't verify if they have them though.

I tried an Obligato G recently, but found it a little nasal.
The surface of the string also appeared quite rough in comparison to other Pirastro strings, which are usually very highly polished and smooth.
