Wierd Strings

About a week ago I walked into a violin shop and they had an Engelhardt Swingmaster. Its G & D strings were thicker than the A & E. The G,D strings had purple wrap the A had red and the E yellow. I thiught the thicker ones(purple) were the Original Flexocors but I went to my bass lesson and my teacher had the Flexocors and they were pretty medium-size. Can anyone idenify the G & D strings on the Swingmaster?

I thought of Doms too, but thicker than the A&E?
Must be something else.
Maybe wound gut or synthetic?

Well, we don't know what the A and E are.

Pictures? Metal sample we could send to the lab?

Sounds like LaBella Supernils, but you would know by the nylon winding.
