Xmas splurge-Oliv content

Having been a good boy all year, I decided to spring for Oliv GDA for the Pollmann. Any suggestions for a compatible extended E?

Are you sure you want the A?

I've always been happy with it in the past. I'm doing about 70/30% arco to pizz on this bass these days.

Hi,
I've been played with this set for a long time, it was the best i've had.
For the E string i used an Obligato or an EP medium gauge.
I think an old Spiro weich will be ok.

Well, I decided to go in another direction entirely by ordering a set of Flexocor Originals. We'll see what happens.

Got the Flexocors on and settling in-after 40+ years, my first ever set of real arco-oriented strings. This will be interesting.

Well, well, well. The Flex Originals are settling in nicely, and the arco sound is getting better daily. The Perm E is a good match. The kicker is that the pizz sound is also getting better, especially for someone like me who's not looking for a 60 second G on the E string. Only drawback so far is that now the Spiro Weichs on my Vertical Bass feel really soft. If i stick with the Flexocors, I may have to move up to Mittels.

Fate has stepped in (in the form of a friend who is having serious health issues) as it often does and handed me a bag of used Olivs, mainly GDA with the odd E. I'm going to snag a couple of Gs and Ds and sell the rest after I sort them for condition. All proceeds go to my friend.
