$200-300 price drops starting on Fender AVRI P's and J's

Looks like a few online retailers are starting to drop pricing on the '57 and '62 P's, as well as the '62 j basses. I know these basses have lots of fans here, including me. check out sweetwater.com

57 trans white P. $1159
62 J sunburst, black or oly, $1199
62 P oly, $1199

I'm sure the other retailers will follow suit shortly as this appears to be a Fender authorized sale.

That is a good deal! I am tempted to buy a '62 Jazz in sunburst (already have the '57 P) but I have been trying to be good and avoid more purchases. I am going to be buying a Nate Mendel P when they come out in a couple weeks, but this upgrade to that is tempting instead.

The '62 P is my favourite Fender, and pretty much the only one that interests me.

IMO, this is a much more reasonable price. Shame it's only for a sale...

Awesome. One of the best deals in bass-dom just got better.

Just a little more than what used AVRIs generally go for.

I am sure a coupon can be worked into the equation to if you do a little work and call some reps another 10% may come off those numbers.

Those are some sweet prices.

Major speculation:
Wondering if Fender's AV price drops have anything to do with a (possibly) new line of AV's coming? (though if their new AV Strats are any indication, price points of the new reissue basses will likely be MUCH higher than currently)

all I know is I couldn't resist. got my local GC to price match and throw in a little extra discount to offset the tax. so I've got an oly white 62 P on the way.

I think you're absolutely correct in your assessment.

Congrats! Sounds like a great score.

They had (only) one in stock just a couple of weeks back. A 9 pounder.
I imagine it sold quickly when the prices dropped.
They would probably order one for you, or you could always have another seller price match (and even beat the price).

LOVE the AV57.

macribas, I had guitar center match sweetwaters price. that might work for you. Mine is scheduled to get in on Monday, but I'm stuck in Florida for another week.
