1978 Fender Precision Bass, Made in USA
This my best friend's bass guitar. He's had it since the early 1980's.
As you can see from the pictures, this bass has seen many gigs and plenty of action. However, in spite of a few bumps and bruises, it still plays well and has that Fender sound and "Made in USA" quality that makes these basses collector's items.
The neck is straight, the action is good, the electronics work, and it's fun to play.
A few details about this bass and its condition:
1978 Fender Precision 4 String Bass
Serial Number S892773
Made in USA
Has a mark on the body (photo 2, lower left corner) where the finish has worn off. The mark and surrounding area are discolored, however are perfectly smooth. It could be refinished if you are so inclined, and it would not be noticeable.
Other than the mark, the body only has a few small nicks (front and back) that you would expect from a 31 year old guitar.
The back of the neck has a couple of small dings.
Along the top edge of the fretboard, the finish is cracked in a few places.
Neck is straight.
Frets could use a dressing, however it still plays well.
Stays in tune well.
Comes with a padded gig bag.
So there you have it. If you've shopped around you know that a bass like this, in perfect condition with original case, goes for around $1500 - $2000 or more. Here's your chance to own a piece of history for only about half of that.
Sorry, no checks or out of state buyers. Cash only, local pickup only.
Thanks for looking!!
