This is for just the case, and no board, right? |

I ordered one late Sunday night (around midnight). They're ebay page says two weeks to ship, but it shipped on Monday, should arrive tomorrow. |

Note the Rondo cases have a thinner lid, thus you can simply use the lid as the pedal board which is what it looks like they're suggesting you can do with theirs, too. Though their lid is almost 2" deep. |

Hmmm...just noticed the pic on ebay has one latch on each end, while the pic I found on hybrid's site has two latches each front and back. Plus in the ebay pic I can't make out the logo, but it doesn't look like it says Hybrid.

I just hope this is a deal and not just me getting overly excited while browsing ebay late at night. At least my current board is a Roadrunner (GC brand) so the bar is set low. |

I've gotten a few and they're decent cases for just hauling your board around town or whatever, but mine got the crap beat out of them in the trailer and just didn't hold up.
If you're just tossing it in the trunk for a drive to a gig, or doing short tours, they're fine.

The handle is strong and sturdy, the butterfly latches are nice but I wish there were four instead of two. The construction is decent, it's plywood covered in a fake tolex/pvc coating. As JoshB said it will be great for going from bedroom to gig in my car, but I wouldn't toss it in the back of the semi with real road cases or stand on it.
The lip is sort of high. Placing my pedals right up on the edge will work with Boss pedals, but some of my lower profile ones would be a bit tough. Not a problem for me, I'll just place them back an inch or so and reach them just fine. I think a Pedaltrain 2, or maybe even the PT-pro would fit in this case. Eventually I'll build a wood version myself.
Overall it is much better then the 'Large' GC roadrunner case, which is only 23.62" x 15.75" x 4" and cost $100. This "Roadie" is 32x16x6" and cost me $85. I guess the 'blow out sale' is sort of an ebay trick, but seeing as Hybrid's website sells these "Any size-$150" I think I got a good deal, and I'd recommend it to anybody who doesn't want to spent $300 on a case and isn't going to beat the snot out of it. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
