70s jazz bass

http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/msg/644792866.html

Asking $1100 for a 70s jazz bass. He told me the serial number was #76318, which doesn't make much sense to me. I think it's Olympic white, but can't remember (he posted a picture a month ago, but not in this ad). Cash only, pickup only on the southside of Chicago.

Someone else please get this, because I already have three basses I'm trying to sell, and I'm not that good at IDing authentic Fenders. Could be a steal for the right person.

Please go get this and then tell me how much of an idiot I am for passing it up.

Yeah, and he's not real responsive over email, but he did email me his number and said to call. I'm just not driving out to him when I'm no good at IDing Fenders.

It's tough, because I'm not sure what year they switched over to the letter-denoting-decade thing. You can call Fender and find out though.
