He's added more info to the ad now. Emailed the guy and got a better photo. I don't think it's a real '78 neck.

It's a Frankenbass for sure, but what's most important is that it's not a '78 neck. I emailed him and very politely told him so, just in case.

It may be a $500 bass - can't tell that without inspecting it in person. But what really matters in the ad is that it shouldn't be called a '78 neck, because it isn't. And of course you never know - maybe this guy really thinks it is, but maybe not.

Giving him the benefit of the doubt for a moment, he did yank the original ad and post a new one with more information and pics. That's more up-front and thorough than most CL ads I read.
