Having bit twice on these and other "special" deals Ive come to the conclusion they are pushing used/returned items at this price. Some how they get away with new when a lot of the stuff is returned/refurbished...

I have been watching ASAT bass prices for a while. In the last month they have varied from 1400 to 1000 dollars, earlier today you could pick up an ASAT for 898 dollars, now they are 1400 bucks again. Having just bought a 'Fish, I managed to resist the temptation of a sub-900 dollar ASAT.
Kind of like airline pricing, a mystery to me.

Russ | Yeah, I used them to buy some Aguilar stuff in the past and the pricing can change minute to minute. There are some great deals to be had with them. |

| | | | new In the past I have owned 2 J&L L-2000 and an L-1000.
The L-2000 I got from Amazon a month or two ago is handsdown my favorite thus far and looked brand new. Came in a new beefier case too. Better than the old style. If someone returned it they sure did not play it long. It's balanced and lightweight, and quiet (no hum) and cost 749.00
free shipping.
Got another bass at 1/2 price too and it looks new.
YMMV |

Boy, can I tell you some stories!
One prestige bass manufacturer has privately advised TBers not to buy their brand basses from the Amazon outlet as they are all defective seconds.
On the other hand, I got a Schecter that appeared to be A-stock and fairly perfect.
But Amazon sells a lot of junk merchandise as first-quality stock...no doubt about it whatsoever!

Untold tons of "scratch & dent" stuff from MF was provably factory seconds. Now they sell it as "used."
You don't actually think you're not in an adversarial relationship with your favorite gear companies, do you?
In this instance, the recipient of the email shared it with me in PM and it was real, I know the guy who sent it at X basses and it's totally his style. I bought a marked B-stock one of their import models from MF.
Anyway, I wouldn't mind that Amazon sells this stuff, but it bugs me they sell it as new A-stock when it's not.

This is too funny to be dumb. |

| | Monster Mike | | | | Speaking of the amazon deals, thought someone would be interested in a Carl Martin parametric eq for $90 instead of the usual $260. Sounds like a good deal even if it's secretly b-stock. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER
This one doesn't really suit me, but I know how many folks here love parametric eqs! |
