Bacchus JB 4 $499

The build quality on Bacchus basses is excellent+. A bass of this quality under $500 is extraordinary. Just because the name isn't well know over here (they're MIJ) means that sometimes you can steal one.

BTW, Bacchus' lowest price bass, which I don't think this is due to the bridge, starts at $1760, plus shipping, duty and sales tax. Figure $2K or so.

I live in japan and see these often. The ones made abroad are about 200 bucks and the Japanese made ones are about $2000. Even the ones made abroad are still really nice basses.

That is a great deal.

I played that one and it's pretty nice. Except that the finish is nicked and dinged a lot more than the pictures show. Also the blue isn't quite as bright as the pics.

It sounds like a good jazz should though. Nice growl to it.
