Pretty good deal. I'm not looking to buy (sadly), but I went to Music123.com and had them beat the price...I got a quote for $543.98. They also threw in a monster cable for $39.99 (in the note, it said something about $32 shipping from Bass Emporium, which I don't know where that came from), but you can just change the quantity to zero and just get the bass for the cheaper price. So if you're in the market...there ya go.

Wait...they threw in a Monster Cable for $39, or they threw in a $39 Monster Cable for free?

Are they charging people to get rid of their junk now?

It sounds like maybe the monster cable was already in his cart and he didn't realize it? Maybe? Idk...

The monster cable was definitely NOT in my cart! Trust me, I'm an expert on throwing away money, and even I won't buy into their hype! haha

No, the message I received was:

"Dear Customer,

Thank you for your recent email. I have quote the item below. As well since they are charging shipping costs of $32.20 it was added onto the quote. We ship free. The item on your quote qualifies for our Platinum Plus Coverage. I would highly recommend taking advantage of this for additional coverage, services, and complete peace of mind regarding your purchase. To add the Platinum Plus Coverage to your order, click the link to add the quoted items to your shopping cart. From there you will be able to add an additional coverage on eligible items. For more information on our Platinum Plus coverage, you may go here: "

Kind of hard to read, but then I saw the quote which included the monster cables for $39.99. Impression I got was "they charge for shipping, but since ours is free, we'll let you have these cables for 'free' and charge you what you would have for shipping". I've had monster cables thrown in the music123 quotes before, but usually they say it's just some ideas for accessories I may be interested in, and there will be a link for just the instrument or the instrument plus accessories. This one was just the one quote for instrument and accessories...but it's easy enough to change the "1" to a "0" on the quantity for the cables, getting rid of them on the order.

Hope that clarified....?

Completely disregard all my previous posts! I'm an idiot. I've been crunching numbers all day and somehow this slipped by me completely. I was thinking the Bass Emporium was $599 after I got the quote. I have no idea where the $543 quote comes from (it's a discount on their price, but seemingly arbitrary compared to what I usually get). Be smarter than me and pay attention to what you're buying. Buy from Bass Emporium, they're cheaper! (thankfully, as I said previously, I'm not buying the bass so I didn't screw myself over here)

This! Not only they are cheaper, they got the best service in the business, and you're supporting a store that only sells bass-related stuff.
But the way, I have seen those basses in person and they are gorgeous. I am not a MusicMan guy, but those are tempting.

Bass Emporium is a Bass Disneyland. I love to swing by there when I'm in Austin. But it's even more fun when you have money.
