BLACK FRIDAY BASS GEAR?

Sign in to disble this ad
Not sure if this is off topic, but I feel I might as well put it here. If it needs to go somewhere else, I trust the mods enough to know where that is (cuz I sure as hell don't)

Anyway, black Friday is tomorrow, so I'll be getting up bright-eyed and bushy tailed at about 4:00 in the morning to go down to my local Sam Ash and Guitar Center in the hopes of finding good deals on bass gear. I'm really looking to snap up a few key pedals.

Boss SYB-5

Boss AW-3

Boss PH-3

Not the craziest wishlist in the world, I know. It's just stuff I like for all the fun noises I can pull out of it. If they had a cheap octave-up pedal I'd grab one of them too...

Anyway, post your Black Friday wishlists!

Not the first time I've heard someone call the SYB-5 a waste of money, believe me...

I'll admit, when I first plugged one in a while back, I did not like the sound. It sounded like the amp was farting. After a good 3 minutes of tweaking, however, I ended up dialing in some really cool, usable tones...

Kinda sounded like robots doing the nasty, in a word, AWESOME.

To each his own, though.

I have owned one and its tracking is abysmal! Better of with a octaver, some fuzz and a delay then you really can make some groovy sounds!

I'll probably be hitting up GC with that 15% off online coupon for a new amp; been looking really hard at the GK MB115. The MXR Carbon Copy is also on my list.

Speaking of octavers, any good octave-up pedals for bass? There are times when I need that higher octave or two just to show the guitar who's boss, ya know what I mean?

Haha. Maybe something not $300? Why don't they make any $50 dollar octave-ups?

More like $209 or less new (not the Pog 2 or the big Pog).
It's the best octave up there is for that money, and the best tracking (as in glitch free!) octaver (octave down) there is. All the way down to my low A (hipshot on my low B string) seemlessly. Octave up OR down.

....or, for octave up with a kick, find a used, discontinued Akai Uni-Bass. It's killer for what you want it for.

Sam Ash has 10% off a lot of items including Fender & Squire,

And for $50 off a purchase of $225, code 50THANKS.

For an office/backup bass, I’m getting ready to order a $240 Squier Jazz V for around $162 shipped…

all I gotta do is figure out which color I want.

Make sure you check out the fine print at the bottom of those coupons. There are a ton of companies that GC excludes from the deal.

Since this is about more than basses, I've moved this to Hot Deals. There is another BF thread there, but I'm unable to merge. Happy Shopping.

You won't be dissappointed! That's my main bass and it's a joy to play.

Back on-topic, I need a new amp. Christmas comes but once a year

God bless.

I checked with the GC store last week when I got my coupons in the mail because I want to get a Fender Kingman AEB. They said the Fender exclusion only applys to the high end stuff. You will not get the deal on a USA Jazz but they will let you get the MIM and Squier stuff.
