Kinda depends on where the epoxy is breaking down (and it looks like everywhere), it's $275 without shipping to get it redone. They have a sweet growl to their tone, hence the "buzz". If this were say a few years old the price would be insane, but being an 80's bass and the condition of the fingerboard the price is average.

Well, doing a quick search some people refer to it as a different poly and epoxy-like, but some think it's epoxy...either way it is(or should be) a heavily coated fingerboard (or "fretboard" as the listing puts it )
