I was hoping for some sweet deals from MF but they look pretty weak. Oh well I don't really NEED to spend money right now.

You can call into Same Day Music, they are letting you name the price for any item you want to buy by phone. There is a code you tell them, then tell em what items your wanting, then name your price.

I just ordered two sets of DR bass strings, BB's 5's and some Neon 5's - (colorful for the holidays ) I asked for my price of $35 for each set, they could do $36 for each, with free shipping. So saved me a few bucks.

That's still cheaper than all other online stores I saw, even JustStrings.com by a few cents. Not a bad deal, I suppose one could save quite abit more on larger items. I'm good with my deal. Good luck.

Sameday can be limited in what they have.

In any case, i just put together an order above $700 at Musicians Friend online and it didnt qualify for 15% off. I then called them on the phone and, as per usual, they initially excluded all Fender items. However after listing each item number, including Fender items that were not special order or custom shop, the order went thru at 85% of online pricing.

They also encouraged me to call back anytime today with an item for 15% off. Your results may vary depending on the person who answers the phone.

Same Day Music had the items I was looking for and at better prices than the other online stores I searched. Tho I suppose with all the price matching the online stores do, you could call others to meet any other discounted prices.

But again, SDM, had what I wanted at a pretty good discount, so I'm good now.

lame sales when MF offers 20% off and it can be applied to used gear thats when i buy

I think it's been a year since anyone offered a store-wide 20% off deal. Maybe it has to do with the economy.

Yep, discounts on used gear has been a very good deal for me a couple times now. Seems so far MF and a couple others are doing 15% for items over $500.00 or something like that. I aint looking to spend that much this time around. I prefer when they offer the 15%-20% on any item regardless of cost.

But for sure the discounts on used stuff has gotten me some great prices at these online stores. But other than accessories not needing much these days.

The last few best deals I got on cabs/basses/amps was right here on TB. WHO-AH!
