| I know from experience you can get at least $50 bucks for one of those on trade at Guitar Center. And with any trade-in you get 10% off a new piece of gear without the restrictions that their coupons are saddled with. So if you're looking at something well over $700 new at GC, it can be worth your while to buy one just to flip for the discount. They aren't bad basses, either, but the pickup under the bridge needed quite a bit of adjusting and rigging to get an even sound across the strings on mine.
I used this method when I bought an $1800 Les Paul last year around tax refund time.
