I got an email from music123 yesterday explaining their new 2 day only sale good for all of today and ending tomorrow at midnight.

Works like this: only valid on phone orders so you have to call in, and there's a varying discount depending how much you spend. oh, and you have to mention the discount code which is "save 123". otherwise the normal discount promotion is in effect.

5% off $1-199
10% off $200-349
15% off 350-499
20% off 500+

max discount is $1000, and this applies to your entire order. Naturally a ton of stuff is exempt, including Fender, Gibson, their subsidiaries, Vox, Yamaha, you get the picture. It's actually pretty crappy for guitarists, but most of the bass brands are eligible like Ampeg, Ashdown, Ibanez, Musicman, (possibly even... rickenbacker?) etc. Time to jump on that Ampeg VR you've been putting off getting...

Better if you spend more. But the regular holiday savings is better if you spend less. 25% at $100 and 18% at $250.

wow. 25% off of a hundred bucks... looks like someone at music123 didn't think that one through very well. but i bet there are a lot more "exceptions" than for the phone sale.

really the phone sale is just great if you've been eying an expensive amp or bass that is eligible. I'm pretty pumped about the $150 i was able to knock off my ashdown.
