What you should really do is save up a few thousand dollars, come over here to Tokyo and spend a couple days drooling over the thousands of beauties available... then pick one and take it home.

of course making a choice is the hard part.

How does that work? I'm going to be living in Tokyo (Fussa, actually). Is there a storefront? I can see myself spending lots of money there...

There are quite a few Ishibashi stores. I went to a couple last summer, but I cannot remember all of their locations. I remember one in particular was in Yokohama. I think it was around Tsurumi station on the top floor of a department store.
I saw a lot of used gear that I once saw on their online site.

I wish I could give you more detailed directions, but I have a terrible memory. In any case, there are tons of music stores in Japanese department stores. They are typically on the highest level.

Also, in Shibuya, there is a boutique bass shop (I forget the name) that sells really, really high-end gear. Its right outside one of the train station exits.

Also be sure to check out the ESP stores! There is a nice one in Shibuya as well.

Sorry about the thread-jack!
