Fender Starcaster Chorus: 7.99 at BestBuy

Sign in to disble this ad
Order from Best Buy online... you can have it shipped to a store for free, or to your home for a small fee.

My total, with sales tax and UPS shipping: 10.06

I haven't tried it yet, but it's a tank - solid metal. Similar to a Boss enclosure but longer, with a battery compartment on top (nice touch).

I bought two last week, $1.25 to ship to my house, each, ’cause I bought them separately, having ordered one for a gift to a nephew (guitar) and then thought I’d ordered another… not sure why.

I haven’t tried it, either, but it is substantial feeling.

This forum will be the death of me (or my marriage). I just ordered one of these with no intended use. Maybe I can use it with the Dean Q4 bass I have on order that I don't need. Thank goodness I missed the Omaha (where I live) Ric for $400 craigslist deal... DARN THE HOT BUYS FORUM!!

I tried to find a local BB to pick up, and every one that I clicked on said unavailable. Plan on paying $1.25 shipping plus tax for each pedal, but still a great deal at under $10. I have 2 on the way. I'll compare it to a CE-2.

I got one of these for under $5 shipped from SamAsh.Com a few months ago. $4.86 or something in another order.

"Starcaster" is Fender's drugstore sub-Squier line.

These things have been popping almost everywhere for under $10 over the past year and a guy on a stomp builder's forum says he's been buying dead ones in lots of ten [!] on eBay to strip for parts.

That probably says a lot about them right there.

They're pretty lame as choruses go.

Why only the chorus? I dunno.

Just got mine. Even though it was brand new and packaged in plastic (which had turned a dingy colour), it had some nicks on it. One of the knob covers fell off as I was dragging it out of the packaging. Still, I thought it sounded pretty damn decent! A lot better than plugging your bass into a Steak n Shake meal of the same value, though that might fatten your tone up a little more (wow, lame puns are coming out, must be 'ten-minutes-till-I-leave-work' syndrome).

Mine came in today.....it sounds good. Don't expect the world, but for $10 I am thinking about ordering a few more...why? B/c it is $10 shipped! I have a Hardwire CR-7 that I absolutely love and I was A/B'ing them back and forth....I think you can dial in some very usable tones with the Fender. Overall, I think it is a great deal.....even at retail price it would be a good deal.

It's got a lot of knobs, rate and depth being 2 of them. Maybe I can turn the rate down and depth up and get a Bridge of Sighs type of vibe. Either that or if the pedal sucks (to you) give it to some kid learning to play.

Much like Norwaybro, my package was a dingy, yellowish color and smelled all mildew-y?! Also, the plastic on the package looked like it had been ripped apart by a wolverine on pcp...and the bottom of the pedal was a bit shredded (by said wolverine?) from being pulled out of the package, presumably. For 10 bucks though, not too bad. Can't see people wanting to buy more than one.
