For the second time in recent months I have logged into my account at Guitar Center's Website, tossed some random items in my shopping cart (bridge, pickup covers, books, dvds, etc) and then logged out of the site. Usually, around the 7 - 10 business day mark, I receive an email from GC stating that if I want to complete the sale (of the items I had left in the cart), they will knock 5% off each item. I just completed another such order this morning, saving close to $26 bucks on the total order.
If you can wait, or if you are planning on stocking up on certain items for future use...maybe this can save you a couple of bucks. I also add enough stuff to get the total over $99 (for free shipping).
This morning's order consisted of:
Fender '62 P-bass 13-hole pickguard (retail $37.99 -- paid $28.49)
Fender P/J Vintage Bridge (retail 39.99 -- paid 33.24)
Fender P-bass pickup cover (15.99 -- paid 14.24)
Fender bridge cover (22.99 - paid 17.09)
a couple Hal Leonard books (19.95 each -- paid 18.96 each)
Retail Total $156.86
Total Paid $130.98
Savings $25.88
It's not HUGE, but considering I give myself a $150 allowance each month for all things bass-related, I had $19 bucks left over for some wood grain filler via Stew-Mac.
