Anybody grab it? I pondered it, but I already have one Ritter 5 that I'm scared to take out of the house.

The saga continues....
I saw it pop up in their used sight again today and called the store. Turns out it's not at that store, somebody did buy it the first day it was listed and then returned it to another store.
They told me some odd story about the neck getting warped from it being left in the rain at delivery and said that it was perfect with a receipt of it just being set up when they had sold it.
I called the new store and they were talking about sending it someplace to try to get it fixed and then mentioned that I could negotiate a price for it AS IS but they would have to get it officially transferred from the other store, which for some reason hadn't been done yet, so they could see what they paid for it.

Anyway, waiting to see if I can score this for cheap and have a nice piece of art on the wall:

If that neck warped it's not a Ritter.

The least the flipper could do is get it fixed and playable before selling to justify his markup....sheesh.

They offered me the bass for $2500 on the condition that I couldn't return it and that I understood that it was twisted and warped in a couple different places and that their in house luthiers had no solution. I said no (THICK gloss neck and ebony fretboard make it essentially not fixable), but if they decided to make it returnable I would buy it. They said they would call me back if they didn't get someone to buy it as is and went down their list. I have no idea what it sold for but at most it was $2500.

It's a bolt-on, isn't it? Could a new neck be fitted? What would that cost?

Well, I guess you can't blame the guy for wanting to make a buck. It's what a free economy is all about. But, if were truly a $200-$400 fix, he could get it fixed and probably even up the price a little. Just sayin...

Something tells me it will be headed to Ebay soon.

I emailed Ritter about getting a replacement neck when I was considering buying it and didn't get a response, although I know someone got the email since something updated on the Ritter site that I told them to do. I considered that a no. I think best case scenario would have been sending the body to Germany, having Jens make a new neck for several grand over the course of I'm not sure how many months, and then getting the whole bass sent back (I'd guess he either didn't have the time or inclination to do so for someone buying the bass cheap with a known problem).
