Genz Benz Shuttle STL308T - $599 - Austin

I was driving all over Austin today popping into Pawn Shops and hitting music stores looking for a bass amp...

Strait Music Co. has the Genz Benz Shuttles with the 8" speaker for $599. I initially thought it was the 10" speaker, but at this price is must be the 8"... If it is the 10" speaker, it's a really good deal. If only the 8" speaker, you'll still save about $100.

For what it's worth, it sounded really good. Would make a great practice amp that could double as a backup amp. I plugged it into an Ampeg 610 as I used to own one of those for reference... I thought it sounded pretty good, and was pretty loud too for such a little box. I didn't think it sounded as good though plugged into an Ampeg 410 they had in the room, sounded kind of muddy through the 410, but a lot clearer through the 610.

Wish they would have had the Shuttle 6.0 with the 12" speaker at such a good price!

I asked about the price on just the heads, and the guy working there said that as far as he knew, they weren't available in just the heads (he said to e-mail the manager to ask for sure).

FWIW, the guy at Bass Emporium said they can't keep the 6.0 shuttle heads in stock... they sell as soon as they come in.
