Because this is an auction only, I believe it violates the rules for hot deals.

The sticky at the top of the page reads:

"Please Read Before Posting. Remember--NO EBAY AUCTIONS!!!"

I hear ya'. However, your only reading the sticky that applies specifically to Ebay. Because Ebay does actually offer direct sale options, as well as auctions. If you refer to the full rules of the forum, not just that sticky, you'll see that auctions should not be posted.

With all that said, I'm glad you did because I'd forgotten all about Goodwill auctions!

I see the reasoning behind ebay not being allowed because the seller could be anyone just trying to promote their auction. However, i dont see why there should be any issue in posting an auction from goodwill especially since the proceeds are for charity. So, we can either allow such things to be posted and if you dont want to look you are not forced to click or we could all be automatons and get bogged down in an argument that is based in semantics.

I'm sure the mods have good reason for this rule. Maybe even beyond just the fact you stated. I wouldn't go so far as to claim my opinion or yours should trump the rules though. I don't disagree with your feelings about Goodwill's merit. However, when you start making feelings the determining factor then it does become semantics. I respect the op, think he's a excellent tb'er but wanted to give a heads up. No need to continue to bore everyone else with this. We can pm if need be. In any case no malice, hard feelings or disrespect intended to the op or you.
