On a more serious note, if you talk to someone in person, they can generally be accommodating.

I was looking for a DBX DriveRack and neither American Musical or ZZounds would match the price when I called. It is hit or miss depending on who you talk to.

Where everything is fried! | | | Why would it affect the manufacturer bottom line if GC sells their merch at a discount being the products have already been purchased at a given price by GC, prior to any discounts. It seems it's GC that's providing the discount (and taking the loss in revenue), not the manufactuer.
Some BS in the dealer contract, Im sure but still... |

Some BS in the dealer contract, Im sure but still... | If it becomes generally known that a brand is sold at a greater discount than the average street price, it reduces the credibility of their street price and MSRP. In turn, this negatively affects their wholesale pricing and ultimately their profitability.

I am not a fan of guitar center.
However it's not hard to see that they are hurting bad.
Since they are owned by Bain capital I'm not holding bake sales for them anytime in the near future |

I've never dealt with musiciansfriend. How do you convince them to give better deals? 20 percent off is pretty good. |

| | | | I was looking at that coupon code and called musicians friend and they matched it on an excluded item 150% per their price match policy.
