Almost everything I've ever gotten from GC that was a price drop was broken in some way or another, there's a reason why the item isn't selling in the store. Stripped truss rod, missing battery attachment, blown transformer, a pedal that didn't even turn on(!)...I could go on. Expect any instrument to need new strings and one hell of a complete overhaul to be playable. If there's a guitar in the store and it's cheap it's because it's unplayable usually.

Only issues I have with them was due to UPS shipping damage. I always call the online manager and ask about the item.

I've gotten some great stuff from used.guitarcenter.com, but I'd have to agree with this as well - it's super cheap for a reason.

That’s actually not a bad deal for buying used.

I check my local site daily, and I've gotten some decent deals.

Never had to return anything used from GC...

Is it like Walmart, where if I buy from one Walmart, I can take it back to ANY Walmart... Or, do you need to ship it back to the original Guitar Center?

Made my first used purchase the other day from them. Called about a Epiphone LP Classic Flametop. Manager said it was "a 9 out of 10 condition". Rushed over there, found it to have a gouge in the upper neck and a chip (1 mm) out of the top. Pointed this out to him, along with the fact that I had just driven 25 miles after he told me there was nothing wrong with it. He apoligized, offered me the guitar for $200, and threw in a gigbag. I steamed the neck gouge out and sealed the chip with superglue. Big Win !

Trace Elliot GP7 200 for 79.99 is a pretty nice deal. Could be used for a small practice head or smaller clubs. Hmmmmm.

I gotta say, the online database for GC seems pretty accurate. I bought an item there last night and it's already out of the system.

They do have a return policy. I think they ship for free too...at least when I bought some stuff last year they did...if not you can get it sent to the store closest to you and check it out.

Shipping is not free. You will pay sales tax, even if you are in a different state (unless the state you're in does not have a GC). And you have 30 days to return it - which you can do to any GC, not necessarily the one you bought it from. The one time I did this, I even got my shipping refunded.

When I return used stuff to GC that was shipped to me they refund the shipping also but as a gift card. I always make the claim it wasn't as advertised and they give me a gift card to make up for the shipping fees and refund the rest to my cc.

Yeah, I kinda figured it would be. It's about half off of what they cost. Bummer.....
