My mother works a assisted living home where they need to buy 3-5 computers that the residents can use to go online they have a very low budget. I can work an all the computers to make them work but where do you find used computers anymore. we can't do ebay because it needs to be somewhere that can provide a bill of sale. The bill of sale is not for warrenty just to show amount. |

The ASUS machines, while intriguing, are likely to have
screens that are too small.
I seriously recommend you contact Dell. Tell them what these
are for. They are very likely to give you a special discount.
Just buy the low end of the Dell line. Their low end is still great.
If you need to have any more dialog on this, feel free to
PM me.

| | | | See if there are any electronics recyclers in your area. I've gotten used computers from a surplus house of a local university. Check for volunteer groups that refurbish older computers for just the uses you describe. Look into computer user groups; there are a lot of Apple User Groups, maybe they will "adopt" the assisted living group and donate older machines...
Good luck!

What part of the country are you in? |

His gig is selling bulk lots of used Dells. I have bought several lots from him and never had an issue. He ships nationwide.
Although he sells on eBay, I am sure he will be more than happy to give you the paperwork you require. I have always gotten a detailed bill of sale.

One caveat when purchasing refurbs, regardless of the name or size of the company you purchase from, many come with the software (OS) installed on the system only. That is, they do not come with the OS installation discs, recovery discs, or even a recovery partition.
You may want to watch for that and you'll also want to be sure you get a valid product key. |
