I was going to buy a guitar from them this weekend if they had a decent deal, but this offer is an insult for Labor Day.
They can keep their gear.

| | | | The catalog I received today from guitar center had a 15% off coupon ($299 minimum, maximum $500 discount) inside the front cover. Some major exclusions, but lots not excluded.

"In order to take advantage of this promotion, your order must contain at least one eligible product. "

I got the same message and I called them. I got myself a PreSonus Studiolive 24.4.2 mixer for $2200!!! AHHHHHHH!!! I can't wait for it to get here!

I went into a Guitar Center one day and wanted to buy a MusicMan at the advertised 15% off everything (other than these brands.....) and of course MusicMan, Fender, Gibson were excluded. But the manager said there really were no exclusions when you go in, EVERYTHING was at 15% (or whatever current discount) whenever you see a sale like that, but certain brands cannot be advertised as being a % off. It is totally up to the store and they can do whatever the heck they want. If you call up on the phone you can get varying answers, but that is usually because some of these new employees just don't know, or remember, or just don't care. Ask for the manager or whoever and I bet in most cases when calling on the phone or going into a store, you are most likely to see NO exclusions. At least that was the case at GC in person AND at MF when I have called. If people are lazy and ONLY buy online through a website without picking up the phone, they you are losing out on some great deals. |

Better strategy is have Music 123 or MF match or even do better than the GC deal so as not to pay sales tax. They're all the same store anyway so it's a big game.

The GC 15% is for anything over $300. So yeah, best bet is to make them match prices on each other. |
