I'm still burning through my stack of $0.33 per pack bass strings from the last blowout. I noticed the gauges/notes were labeled wrong on the individual string packs. Maybe this is why they unloaded them.

Yeah, and shipped!!! It was crazy. Some people bought a hundred packs. I think I got 25 or so.

Wow-I was sleeping for that one. 100 packs LMAO! Oh well...I guess for the late-comers $8.00 is still pretty good for a pack of bass strings.

Yes, and they are in different packaging, so they may be different and better strings. Let us know when you get them!

Actually, I am all good on strings for now (and trying to keep resources focused towards another bass). I bought a case of Rotosound 5's a few months back.

Just passing on a deal...great story though-I am glad you chimed in.

I still have about 20 sets from the original blowout. Kinda crappy strings but would do in an emergency.

That is hysterical, sad, and annoying all at once LOL!.

It makes you wonder how much companies are raking in on strings if they can sell them (at what I imagine is their cost) so cheaply.

For that price you could be a Steve Harris and change your strings for every gig LMAO!

After seeing the prices paid for these strings in the past, maybe this thread should be moved to "Scam Extreme Ripoff Deals"?

I think string companies are the Starbucks of the musical world.

There has to be a reason that bass string prices haven't changed all that much in over 20 years.

You said it-in fact, they have come down a bit.

I remember paying around $30 per set for Rotosounds in the 80's. Then I discovered GHS Boomers which were almost as zingy (it was the 80's!) and they were around $24 dollars.

Mine are guitar research brand, probably the exact same strings though. Mine also came in mislabeled packages.....

And I do change them about every gig or two, just because I can. I still like the zing of new strings....

Guitar Research? Isn't there an off brand of stereo equipment called Technical Research or something like that (one of those white truck brands)?

I still like new strings for the rock stuff...the country stuff settled in a bit more (although some of the newer stuff is heavy).
