This guy is trying to rip people off with $220 shipping, but there is a free local pickup option.

Most definitely not a hot deal or deal at all. What he's doing is trying to sneak around ebay's fees -- the low starting price reduces his listing fees, and the laughable shipping is just to cover his tail if someone does us the BIN -- but there are better prices on ebay already, so what he really wants is someone to make an offer that he can then negotiate outside of ebay, thereby avoiding the final sale price fees to.

That's all true - but local pickup is free.

Trust me -- he's not going to sell it for $1 to someone who wants to pick it up locally.

You're probably right about that, but it is a possibility if the seller is worried about his/her feedback rating.

So, I've had a little back and forth with the seller.

Me: So, what's with the ridiculous $200 shipping charge?

Him: the buy it now is set at $1 because I'm trying to gave the buyer a good price and save money on charges, the actual price of the controller is included in the shipping charges. So the price is $200 shipped OBO.. is that clear enough for you?

Me: Yeah, it's clearly a scam.

Him: and how is that a scam my friend??
look at my feedback!!!! I sell many things on ebay, no problems. If you were smart enough, then you would know what I'm doing but you're obviosly not that sharp, thanks for your interest anyways.

Me: Ha! I'll let the powers that be at Ebay explain it to you, smart guy.
