This appears to be the older RockBass. The headstock says RockBass instead of the trussrod cover. The newer ones have a W on them like a traditional Warwick. 229 sounds about right for the Warwick sound, but not the parts & build quality.

With the exception of the old-style bridge, the parts are identical, right down to the straplocks. German machines, MEC Gold pickups and circuitry, etc.

Build quality was excellent on the one I got, unlike the appallingly bad first Streamer I got later. The later replacement Streamer was fine.

I'm not a Warwick kind of guy and don't really have any use for these, but the Corvette Basic was a superb value at sale price.

That is what I found. Gotta click on the New Deal logo on the front page. Then the price comes up $229

If they did it for the later "W" model, that's a hot deal!

Nope, that's the old one. Same thing.

That said, the black one of these I got about a year ago from them for $199 is a very nice bass.

Where are these old RockBasses coming from?
