Warwick Rockbass Streamer Standard $399

http://www.samash.com/p/Warwick_Rock...dard_-49950236

After doing the Music123 price beating deal on the ATK's I thought I'd give it a try for these. It works! I just bought a natural finish Streamer Standard for $272. These are great basses. I actually just bought a Nirvana black B-stock Streamer off of Ebay ($302) and loved it. Sold that one to a friend and I'm very happy to have another on the way.

If you are unfamiliar with the Music123 price deal here is what you do:

Go here: http://www.music123.com/Bass/Electri...582370.product

Click on "Seen a better price? We'll beat it." and fill out the form. Use this link for the better price: http://www.samash.com/p/Warwick_Rock...dard_-49950236

They will send you a quote within 3 days. Sometimes it's really fast. Sometimes it takes a day or two.

I was quoted $272.50 for both a honey violin and for a natural finish. You can probably choose whichever color you want.

Is there any easy way to search the closeouts at Sam Ash? I like how on MF you can search clearance and sort by highest percentage off.

How could I miss that? But no sort by highest percent off. :-(

But not that much listed and most aren't high percentages off list anyway. Meh.

Was that a shipped porice?

I ask because so far, Music123 has not matched what they quote you to later would-be buyers.

I put in a 'beat this price' request late last night and have not heard back yet either.

No, I don't mean that -- I mean that when they get around it, it's always some sketchy deal that costs more than what the previous posters got -- like that deal where you had to by replacement insurance on a DISCONTINUED CLOSEOUT item.

Remember, it takes one to three business days to get an email reply on this.

The $272.50 was shipping included. I have a natural finish on the way and I'm considering honey violin as well. It took two days for me to get the quotes on these but I submitted them late Friday afternoon. I think the quotes tend to come faster if you submit them during normal business hours.

The only option SA has at the moment seems to be honey violin, so I doubt M123 will do a price thing on any other color now.

Is this a real finish or an oil finish, BTW?

I just got $273.40, shipped

Funny, huh? Almost as strange as Amazon.

You may be right... I requested a quote for a Nirvana Black finish last night around midnight and have not heard back. I requested a second quote for Honey Violin this afternoon around 3pm and received the quote within 30 minutes.

Quotes are good for 10 days, so I'm thinking I'll keep my eyes out for other deals until Cyber Monday before deciding whether to buy.

Heh... my quote was for $273.49. Must depend on the sales person.

Looks like M123 pulled it, sort of, as it doesn't show up in search any longer.

The only available SamAsh color now is that honey violin thing, so I'm sure M123 won't go for any other color, as they don't have to.

Here's a big picture of it.

Basically, it's about like waxed pine, from what I can gather, no real finish over a soft, close-grained wood. I can find no such thing as "Carolena wood" outside Warwick's marketing.

Another oddity is that M123's specs on this say it's the single pickup version, though I imagine this is in error.

Anyhow, I bought one, so we'll see what's up with that.

FYI - Just got a quote on the Nirvana Black for the same price. Looks like you can get other finishes.

I tried to get a quote for Nirvana black last night and what I got this morning was a message that since the Sam Ash bass was a clearance item they would not beat the price. Weird.

I decided to look into the Carolena wood and all I could find was this quote from the Warwick forums posted by a forum Admin:
It is Carolina Pine from US. :-)
