Apply SITEWIDE10 and it's 89.99 with free shipping, think I'll pick one up for my test rig

Wow... $90 shipped for a cab? That's impressive. I want to order one but this is one of those "good deal" purchases that automatically drives another purchase... I would need a head to match it.
A Carvin BX250 seems like the perfect match.... but I don't know if I should spend the money.

Back up to $199.99. Doh. Might have been a typo.

2x15 is on sale today

They're cheap enough to mess around with, but when the spec says "plywood front panel," I'm pretty sure that means the rest of the cabinet is mdf, which explains why they're so heavy even with wimpier magnets on the drivers.
I know one older thread on here had gut shots of a seismic 215 that was mdf. Don't drop or spill anything on the cab.

Oh, an MFD cab isn’t gonna disintegrate if some water spills on it. Maybe if ya left it out in the rain for a few days.
Personally I wouldn’t buy a Seismic cab/anything, but I’m actually impressed they use plywood for the baffle board—most budget cabs don’t.

The 2x10 is 63 pounds and the 2x15 is 66 pounds, according to their specs.

High end home speakers use mdf because it's inert. They just dress it up with veneers. It's just really heavy.

MDF is tonally excellent for bass cabinets and hi-fi but a nightmare to work with and repair......too heavy as well.

I almost ordered one of those, as I'm looking for a smaller cab for tight stages, but my 2x12 only weighs 50 lbs, so I just can't see fooling with a 2x10 that heavy.

I had a Seismic 1 15 cab and it was a piece of crap. Vibrated and rattled badly with a 300 watt head.

Yeah, I decided against buying one since the resell value isn't there, better off getting a cheap GK line or something off craiglist for $100, at least you can get it back.

GC has about a dozen Peavey 2x10 cabs on their used site for $100.
