Seymour Duncan Paranormal EQ/Direct Box Pedal

Normally $139.95, now $49.95 on MF and M123. Never used one, but looks like a good deal for someone wanting to try one.

WOW, Thanks. I was torn between a Tri-logic and a M80, for this price the choice was simple.

Yes

Thanks for the heads up on this deal.
I owned one of these years ago but sold it. I don't really need one now, but for $39, I could not pass it up.

Mine was on the porch when I got home from work. Won't be able to try it out till the kids in bed. This thing is pretty heavy duty nothing feels chintzy about, a lot heftier then I expected too.

This probably doesn't belong here but here goes...

I just got back from dinner to find it sitting on my porch. Tried it out through my GK and it sounds like turds and sucks the definition out of my tone when engaged. However that isn't how i'd planned on using it.

Thought I'd use this when I'd go straight through the house when I don't have my GK with me.

Construction seems solid. Bypass seems honest. Engage/disengaging the active preamp makes a definite pop through the amp. That ought to make the sound guys cheery.

Active tone set flat is pretty close to the same in tone and volume on bypass with my passive instruments - just ever so slightly louder. A tiny increase to treble makes it closer tonaly.

Sansamp sounds better and actually adds something to the tone of my amp setup but isn't ever going to be close to the $40 I just paid for this.

For my original purpose it would probably work assuming I run it active the entire time to avoid the pop.

Mines going back. It sounds good with with everything at noon but as soon as I start bumping up the mids it starts distorting. Oh well, back to the hunt.

Bummer!

Did you use a known good battery or external power supply? From the limited reviews available, these are supposed to be clean sounding.

I used the battery that came with it. I'll give it another shot with my one spot. I was using a Thumb 5 in passive mode, not really a particularly hot out put. I didn't get it when I boosted the lows at all. Got me stumped.
