Warwick Fortress One 4: FREAKING CHEAP!

Sign in to disble this ad
$189 OMG

Brothers of the Low End:

I popped into one of my favorite music stores (Trading Musician in Seattle) yesterday on the way to practice, and what did I find but a Warwick Fortress One on clearance. German, jah. Blue stained maple body, 7/10 condition or better. Wenge neck and fingerboard. Appeared to be all original hardware including brass Just A Nut I and MEC pups.

Now for the bad news; the neck had more relief than I would usually like to see. The bass played OK but the strings were prolly on the high side. The store dude says they had tightened the truss rod as much as they dared, couldn't get the neck flatter than that, and just wanted to move it out. All the fixin's are worth enough to justify the price, eaisly I'd think.

Could the neck be put back right; who knows? Do I need another project bass right now; no. So someone else snap this up before I get tempted, OK?

No pics. The bass is still at The Trading Musician awaiting someone who wants to follow up on it themselves. I was just a passin' through the store. Anyone wants to have at it, the people at the store are helpful and pretty straightforward. Worth popping in there if your in town too; always something cool hanging on the racks.

Damn, I'd love to pick it up, but I'm just broke as hell right now, haha. If it does need a new neck though, I found this on eBay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

No idea what condition it's in, but if it ends cheap it might be worth buying.

EDIT: I know that they have all the info wrong in the ebay ad as far as the woods in the neck, but it looks right from the picks (ovangkol neck, wenge board). Definitely in need of some wax/oil though.

Just to be clear, as a few people have PM'd me with offers. I don't have this bass, and really (?) don't want another project. Contact The Trading Musician if interested. I have no affiliation with them, just wanted to share some Warwick Love with the communinty.
