Bass Central FTW

Hello All,
I just found this Bass Central sponsored forum, had no idea it existed before and I've been @ TB for a couple years now. Just wanted to say thanks to Bass Central as I recently (Feb. 09) purchased a Lakland Skyline DJ4 in LPB from them and Grasshopper was wonderful to work with. Responded to all my questions quickly and respectfully ( i had been communication with them for about a month before I even ordered) and once I placed my order made sure my bass got to Lakland ASAP to have ChiSonics installed and kept me updated every step of the way. Made me feel like I was about the only customer he was working with at the time and I really appreciate it. Will be shopping here in the future and next time I'll remember to use the Talkbass discount, another awesome incentive to work with Bass Central. Oh and BTW I'm not affiliated with BC in any way, just a very satisfied customer living in rural Iowa where the gear selection is terribly thin.

I've purchased a couple basses from them and always had a great experience. Trust me I'm not the easiest to work with but they were great. Now that I know about the additional discount maybe I'll get a new Lakland to go with my Fenders and Musicman.

I just dealt with them for the first time today and what a great bunch of guys. Beaver and Grasshopper were wonderful. I will buy all gear from Bass Central from now on. I live in the most podunk town around and Grasshopper started talking to me about all the backroads and clubs around here. That's a well traveled musician
Thanks again d00ds and y'all will hear from be again soon

I'm looking at one of their basses now (EBMM SR4 HH). Does anyone know if the actual bass you get is a nice fresh one tucked away in a box, or do you get the actual bass displayed on their site?

Beaver seems like a great guy, good service. Looking at getting a EBMM 7 string from them. Hopefully the discount applies :P

Hey Guys,

For the Record, Know that 90% of our inventory is kept in the box, never displayed! This means that you'll receive it in "virgin" condition, unlike most gear from most stores which is displayed and thus subject to shop wear, etc. While we can Appreciate the BYSIBYG Ethic, Our Inventory is simply to Large to Photo every Bass that comes in. Sometimes 14-20 Per Day. We try And leave at least one model of each up for photo representation and will of course send you photos of whatever bass you are interested in purchasing upon request.
Some Exotic Wood instruments are one of a Kind so must be photographed every time.
Again 90% of these basses Stay in the Box, Never displayed.

Very cool. Appreciate the explanation. Beaver is a great guy to deal with! I'll definitely shop there again.

I ABSOLUTELY SUPPORT WHAT MICHAEL777 SAYS HERE!
I called about a bass on their website, the bass pictured had been sold (It was a used bass) but they had several new ones in that were not on the site. I spoke with Mike and GH and they made me an awesome deal on a new bass, exactly what I wanted. They had it in stock, shipped it the same day and I can promise you it was 100% new.

Awesome guys to work with. I'm a customer for life now.

I just bought an EBMM Sterling 5H from Beaver. Outstanding customer service. I had a question about this one and Beaver responded with a phone call and follow-up email and then another phone call within a couple of hours. It's great to deal with someone who pays that much attention to their customers. I'll be buying more from them for sure.....bravo guys.

Just got my second Spector from BC in the past two months and I can tell you that absolutely you get a fresh instrument.

I know that their web guy is no longer with them so many of the guitars shown on their site should be looked at more as an example of what they have in stock... not the actual guitar you are purchasing.

To be sure, always call and speak with Mike or GH. They can tell you the real deal... if it's a store demo, been opened, etc...

Both of my Spectors were brand new and boxed. They open them to make sure they are strung (it's not good to ship thru-neck guitars unstrung) and they are properly packed.

They are straight up guys. There are 2 dozen Spector dealers between where I am in Los Angeles and where they are in Orlando. And I won't deal with anyone but them.

I'd just tell you to call and make sure you ask. They won't treat you any way but right.
