New guy

Long time player, first time poster (here anyway) But been checking out the site for a few days now and wanted to chime in some. Check my profile for gear-mostly a Fender guy. Messed with some others over the years, but always went back to mu Jazz Bass. I am currently playing a MIJ Jazz with a BAII bridge everything else stock, through a Bassman 100 with a Korg Toneworx effects processor. Played with a number of bands over the years, mostly covers. Started pro at 15 playing out with my Dad. Been back in the playing out mood lately and am thinking I may upgrade some gear. See alot of rack mount stuff that I probably couldn't figure out. Hell, the effects processor is mostly useless to me, really. Tried out some gear ,but we all know 20 minutes in the store doesn't say a whole bunch. What should I be looking at and why?

I'll have another post later on the state of basshood and what I think of it.

Thumbs up

Welcome to this site, it is a very active site with good information and members. I just purchased (2) Fender top of the line heads. The TB1200 and the monster Bassman300(tubes). these are worth the money. I am very impressed with the design and quality of Fender. I too have returned to active bass playing. Started out with a generic Fender Jazz($499) that I didn't even know came with active pickups, I felt kind of dumb when I called up music123 to find I had to replace the batteries. Good luck at this site.........

My Bassman is definitly vintage. I've had it since 1984-it wasn't near new even then. Retubes have been giving it new life ever since. Thanks for the welcome.

You'd have a lot better results posting in the correct forum. This one (Bass Central) is for the store in Florida. While they may come in and chime in on your questions, you'd be better off posting them in the correct forums for more and quicker answers .
