These are what I call "bottoming out" endpins. When you install them they bottom out at whatever height you normally would set your endpin. I custom make them to whatever height you normally play. And make them with either 1/2 inch (~12-13mm) or 3/8 inch (~10mm).
I offer them in all stainless steel or hand crafted exotic hardwood with stainless.
I also offer some crazy designs that some here will love and some will HATE!!!
They can be seen here: http://www.myspace.com/thelegendaryjohnnyatomic

One is for Louis F a member on this board, it is Honduran Rosewood.
The others are flamed maple, and stainless steel w/ dice for John H in Dallas

The length of the pin is 10 1/2" long, maple dyed black w/ a clear lacquer finish. The lacquer will mellow w/ age, and lose some of it's lustre naturally taking on the appearance of ebony after a few months. The pin has a stainless steel rod (although Johnny is now recommending aluminum, I went with steel because of the length)
The endpin looks great, is rock solid and has made the bass feel much more secure as I play it. I'll post pics later, but you can see it on his U-tube site.
Excellent work!

These pins are very stout, look super nice, and are custom made. No two are alike! The perfect finishing touch, made by hand, and they can't "slip" and let your bass fall down while you're playing!
I love it. |

*side note - it is my personal opinion (and has also been discussed on this forum in the past) that ditching the heavy metal endpin rod, and putting on a much lighter wooden endpin can really "wake up" the sound of a bass, tone and volume-wise. It did for mine. YMMV.

John is easy to deal with and delivered all that he promised. I would definitely recommend his product.

The little pin is rock solid, yet light enough that it helps open the bass and make it sing. Really nice work.
Highly recommend him!!

Thanks |
