Alan Bartram Sighting 28 January

The Del McCoury Band played in Norfolk, Virginia this evening and Alan Bartram demonstrated why he holds one of the most coveted bass chairs in Bluegrass.

Great Timing and Taste, solid intonation, and tremendous authority in his note selection. Heck, the guy even sings! He had folks hanging from the balcony and throwing babys in the air when he sang "Rocky Road Blues." And the audience demanded a reprise.

If you haven't seen this great band (Mr. McCoury is celebrating 50 years in Bluegrass) and this stalwart bassist check them out! It was a show to remember.

Cheers,
Chuck

Thanks for the on-the-spot report Mister Telee Savalas. Is yer head bald and were you a Detective on TeeVee !! ?? Damn ... Timing, taste, intonation, authority in note selection ... Good Deal. Bass players (like me) need to learn that stuff.

Wish I was there ... The McCoury Family Band and all the Folks they pick to play with them over The Years .. Friggin' Good Stuff No Doubt ! I sure would like to hear Alan sometime .... I'm a lame Bass Player .... Trying to be better and lissenin'-up. I sure do hope nobody fell-off the balcony and threw no babys off into space on account of our-damn bluegrass music !!
