E string rearticulation

Hey I just switched to some synthetic guts and raised my action. I have a lot of trouble plucking an open E twice in a row. I've been jumping octaves to avoid bad time. Anyone else experience this? Workarounds?

cjac 9,

I have steel strings on my bass but have also noticed it is bit more difficult to play two open E notes in quick succession, compared to the other strings. I think this is because this string takes a bit longer to bloom than the others. This may be exacerbated by the synthetics.

I tend to use the open E sparingly (the secret weapon!), so this is rarely a problem for me.

Other than playing the octave or you could decide to play the 5th or some other passing note rather than the second open E.
