G string question / suggestion

Hi there,
im posting in this forum because i suspect that people in this forum have alot of experience with gut strings and gut substitutes. i dont play bluegrass and i dont slap. ill be playing pizz only and so far am only looking for a G string. let me describe my situation.

i have a bass that was recently strung with steel strings, but i got tired of the high tension and the loss of volume in the thumb position on the G and D strings. someone suggested that i try gut. i bought Gamut Pistoy D and G and i really like them alot. so, this is the reference tone and feel that im going for.
i have another bass with a weak G string that i think i will eventually put a Gamut on as well, but i figured, before i spend that kind of cash again maybe there is a synthetic out there that can get me what i want.

so my question is, which gut like string will get me in the ballpark of the gamut plain gut tone? im looking for the softer tension, larger diameter feel, and i love how the gut string has that punch at the beginning of the note, and actually seems to get louder as i go into the upper registers.
ive been researching alot, and so far it seems that a few contenders might be: Innovation super silvers, Innovation silver slaps, Eurosonics, or the lambert strings (but apparently you cant get in touch with those guys) if i cant get what i want im sure ill eventually go gut, but thought id give this a shot as long as im going to have the string off the bass (oh, im aware of the velvet strings too, if im going to spend that kind of money, ill just go gut)
EDIT: i should add that i love how the guts are amplifying so far with my full circle pickup. i havent played them on a gig yet, but so far so good at home. this probably should also be a consideration with the string suggestion that i am asking for. Thanks!!

The Silver Slaps have a similar tension and feel to plain gut; the Super Silvers are more like springy Spiro Weichs. I don't care for the Eurosonics at all - they feel floppy to me.
