Need to RENT a Doghouse Bass in Seattle 3/19/09

Hello!! I am new to the forum. Discovered this site when I google searched for Doghouse Bass in Seattle WA.

I am a bluegrass performer. www.rhondavincent.com

My band and I are flying into Seattle, WA on 3/18/09. We are in need of an acoustic bass to rent for 3/19/09, 3/20,09, & 3/21/09. The bass would need to be delivered to the Seattle Airport the morning of 3/19/09 - and picked up the morning of 3/22/09.

If you have a great bass, preferably with a pickup and small amp (a GK or comparable), please email or call right away.

Email rhondav@cableone.net Telephone: 615-390-8198

Thank you!!

Rhonda Vincent www.myspace.com/rhondavincent13

Call Hammond Ashley, they may be able to hook you up directly or indirectly.

What part of town are you playing in? I may have one other suggestion for you depending on your answer.

Rhonda or Mickey (whomever for that camp that is posting here) go with the recommendations of Hammond Ashley (sp?). Most of the bands that travel out there for Wintergrass in Tacoma each February use basses rented from this place.

I know Jason Moore of Mountain Heart used one from them a few years back and he's used to his Kay just the same as Mickey. Jason personally told me it was a great bass that he had for the weekend.

For any of you out west that may not be familiar with Rhonda Vincent, she's one of the finest singers and performers in bluegrass music, so by all means, hook her up with a good bass!

Hey Bobby .... Even though I am tryin' to take a Time-Out from TalkBass ... When I hear the name "Rhonda Vincent" .... I lissen-up. I Love Rhonda & The Rage. Seen'em several times. I love Kenny Ingram .... Too bad he's moved-on... Best Banjo Around. But Hey ... That Fiddler Ain't Too Bad Neither and He Is A Funny Guy !!

I have a darn-fine / just-worked-over Gibson-Epiphone B-5 bass just-a-sittin' up at Crescent Beach Guitar (Jake DeVilliers Shop) in Vancouver, B.C. waiting to be played by Mickey Harris . But I'm too-far-away to deliver it in-person to the Seattle Airport .... Maybe Jake wants to take a Road-Trip. I'm gonna get my bass back around the end of May but it would Be-Real-Good if that Rage Feller Mickey worked some-mojo into it before I fetch it back : .

P.S. I just have to say that .... No-Doubt Rhonda is A-Hot-Looker .... And Can play'some Mando'n'Fiddle. However .... She is Nowhere as cute, funny, and fiddler-talented ..... As Hunter Berry . It's a good-thing R's daughter married him to git him off-the-circuit .

DAMN ... I Guess I Just Farted In BlueGrass Church Here !! It's Mighty-Quiet .... Seems EveryBody's Holding Their Nose. .

It only goes to show why I really need to back-off TalkBass .... Even if I have something kinda-useful (but twisted) to say.

No One Gives A Big-Ole-Krapp in The BlueGrass Forum .... We might as well have Banjo-Polio and have come from Used-Becky-Stan. Where is The Smiliee for My Middle Finger Up ?? .

Sorry Rhonda, Hunter, & Sally .... No Harm Intended ... You Folks Are The Greatest. See you soon, I Hope .... Awesome BlueGrass / Country Music. I just have to ask .... Hey R .... How do those tie-dye long-handles you bought from the Hippy Booth in Portland, Oregon in Two-Ott-Six fit anyhow ??

AnyHow .... Mickey .... You are always welcome to play my basses on-loan / for-free if we are even-close to each other in The Future . Let me know if I can help. This Place Sucks.

Of Course I'm Wrong (as usual) .... Rhonda is way-prettier than Hunter ... I knew that . I ain't a Homo. Troy gave some good advice (as usual) ! Sayonara.

But I still wish Mickey Harris would work some Rage Mojo into my lazy ... sittin'-around Epiphone bass .

Hey Pacific NW Buddy .... How come you aren't loaning that nice NS Cleveland to The Rage for their shows ?? You are way-closer than I am ! Are you going to be around FolkLife .... End Of May ?? .... I'm travelling-out to retrieve my Epi bass from Jake DeeVee then. I would love to see an actual Cleve .

Hi Bob,
I'm using the NS on the 21st and 22nd. I have loaned it before but I use it more now.

I'll see about getting up to Seattle to see you and Jake. Will you be there on Monday the 25th, or maybe Sunday pm the 24th?

One of the best side benefits of spending time discussing the details of living with and playing the DB on this forum is the development of relationships with people all over the world. When everyone gets to know each other well, finding instruments waiting for them in many ports is common. Friends do things for friends.

You said that right Toad. Dwight loaned his NStandard to Aaron in 2006 and I'll be forever grateful. I purposely didn't mention this when I first responded to the original poster/thread starter.

How convenient for me would it have been to loan out someone else's bass without asking them first?

I figured if Dwight was interested, he'd chime in, unless, of course, he had plans to use his OWN bass on the same days. But, back to what Toad said, maintaining friendships and establishing them here through Talkbass can go a long ways towards finding a suitable bass when needed in some foreign land.

Thanks again, Dwight.
