new bass

I play bluegrass but I just moved to NYC and the movers DISTROYED my bass. It's the same bass I've had since I was 14. But to turn lemons into lemonade I decided to start shopping for a new bass. Problem is, I have no idea where to start.

I'm looking for a 3/4 bass made of actual wood (my last bass was plywood, which was fine, but now I would like something nicer). Any suggestions on where to shop for a nicer bass in the New York area? I'd like to get playing again sooner rather than later.

Thanks!
