RIP Jody Rainwater?

I heard on Facebook that he passed on Dec 23rd, anyone know any more? He played bass on the radio recordings for the Foggy Mountain Boys, (Flatt and Scruggs) I would love to see some more bio on him, looks like he may have also played swing or jazz at a later date -

Sadly, the news of Jody Rainwater's passing (actually Charles Johnson) are true.

This from his daughter, Charlie Rainwater's Facebook page:

"Last night, just before Christmas Eve became Christmas Day, Dad quietly slipped away and went to celebrate his Savior's birthday in heaven. There can be no greater Christmas than the one he's experienced today.
I would appreciate your prayers for my Mom and my family."

Art Menius added:

Her dad, Jody Rainwater (Chuck Johnson), was the bass player, comedian, publicist, and booking agent for Flatt & Scruggs through their classic years 1949-1952, long time radio personalitiy in westen VA, and a truly fine person.

Then, Charlie posted the arrangements of his services:

"Thank you all for your expressions of love and concern. They are much appreciated. Many of you have asked about arrangements for Dad, which are now finalized. Visitation will be at 6 tomorrow evening, December 27, at Jennings-McMillian Funeral Home, 200 West Carolina Ave., Crewe, VA. Funeral service will also be at Jennings-McMillian on Wednesday, December 28, at 1 PM, with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Rice, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Virginia Museum of Radio Entertainment, PO Box 47, Crewe, VA 23930."

He was a very sweet man, always joyful, when I had the few chances to meet him.
