[Semi-OT?] Bass case won't rest upright.

I have a vintage case that came with my 4001FL; it is a main gigging bass of mine and when I take it to shows with me I am always a bit annoyed to find that it won't rest "upright", on its long edge. The problem is that the hinges actually protrude beyond the length of the four little ball-bearing "feet" that should stabilize the case in this position. Has anyone come up with a decent solution to fix this? It would be great if the case could stand up on its own, for instance when I am opening a door and have to free my hand up for a second.

Hi.

I don't know about the others, but I'd very much like a pic.

For me it's really hard to imagine such a mis-engineering on a quality brand case.

Then again, I have never seen a Ric case in person so they all may be done like that.

Regards
Sam

Okay. Pics soon. It looks like the typical 1970s Fender/Rickenbacker case to me.
